Outreach

Ministering to the community and to each other has long been a tradition at St Martin’s.

The St. Martin’s Project is a program in cooperation with three other Episcopal churches of providing Saturday lunches throughout the year to residents of four Richmond-area shelters. Last year, volunteers at St Martin’s provided more than 1,800 lunches for shelter residents.

St Martin’s provides financial gifts to local nonprofit community organizations such as a day care and child development center, food banks, Meals on Wheels and a shelter for homeless women.

Each year during the Christmas holidays, volunteers at St Martin’s deliver Christmas dinners to families living in Henrico County. Last year, this effort provided a Christmas meal for over 105 individuals.

As a result of various fund raising efforts, St Martin is able to provide annual college scholarships to church family members who qualify and attend college. For the past two years, $1,000 scholarships were awarded to several students to help with tuition and educational expenses.
